The Salentini had their first game after the lockdown and it was a disappointing performance at the Stadio Via del Mare.

“Some of our players switched off mentally during the lockdown, and that was a big problem for us,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It wasn’t just mentally, as some of them also spent two months with their feet up on the sofa, so are lagging behind physically too. I’ll be honest, I am more worried now than I was two months ago.

“The break in the season came at a bad time for us, as we’d just won three consecutive matches and were really improving. We’ve also had a lot of injuries and are struggling to get back in shape.

“The goal we conceded straight after our equaliser was just an unacceptable lack of concentration. I am worried. If we don’t get some of our players back in shape soon, it won’t be easy to avoid relegation.”
