Former Italy coach Marcello Lippi claims he wanted to coach Roma and reveals his three favourites emerging Serie A coaches.
Lippi won the 2006 World Cup with the Azzurri and is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Italian football.
However, he won't return to the dug-out in the future.
"I turned 73 this past April and I don't want to return to the pitch, I've already done what I had to," he told La Verità.

Roma will sack Paulo Fonseca at the end of the season and could hire Maurizio Sarri to replace him.
"I've always liked Fonseca, I think he's done his best and he will have no regrets if he leaves as Roma have faced many difficulties and injuries this season," the former coach said.
It emerged, Lippi has a special relationship with the Giallorossi.
"My nephew was born in Rome, he is a Romanist, and we still keep the badge that club dedicated to him when he was born. It reads: 'The magic Lorenzo, born in the magic 2001, the year of Roma's magic Scudetto.'
"I would have liked to coach them, too bad I couldn't do it," Lippi revealed.
While he said Roberto Mancini's Italy side is "one of the best things of the last two years," Lippi also named his favourite emerging coaches in Serie A.
“I appreciate Sassuolo’s De Zerbi. I must say I didn't like him at the beginning, I thought he had a wrong attitude.
"Now, he has improved so much, Sassuolo play well regardless of who is on the pitch.
"Spezia's Italiano is doing very well too, they have earned important results and they always press high up the pitch, while Ivan Juric has confirmed his qualities."
