Former Juventus Coach Marcello Lippi believes wrapping up the Scudetto tonight would not necessarily be a good thing.

The Bianconeri take on Fiorentina at Juventus Stadium tonight, and a win coupled with Lazio dropping points would hand Allegri’s side a fourth consecutive title.

However, the World Cup winning Coach warns wrapping up the League too early could lead to a drop in intensity in Europe.

“Both teams are coming off a defeat,” Lippi said, previewing the game on Radio Sportiva.

However, the World Cup winning Coach warns wrapping up the League too early could lead to a drop in intensity in Europe.

“Both teams are coming off a defeat,” Lippi said, previewing the game on Radio Sportiva.

“The Viola have lost three in a row. Both have European commitments on their minds.

“The fight for the Scudetto is already over, but tonight Juventus could seal it mathematically.

“That said, sometimes it can be good to keep the tension high in view of the Champions League, so it’s not necessarily good for European commitments to close out the title race.”

Lippi also gave his opinions on the rest of Serie A, and believes Maurizio Sarri’s Empoli have played the best football this season.

“The team which has played the best football in Serie A this season is undoubtedly Empoli, with Sarri who has done very well.

“In the second half of the season I’ve been particularly impressed by Lazio.”
