Marcello Lippi admires Napoli and Fiorentina, and believes Vincenzo Montella “won’t need long” at Sampdoria.

The former Italy CT, who won the World Cup in 2006, discussed the current situation in Italian football with Sky.

“Napoli and Fiorentina are the teams I like most,” Lippi explained.

“They’re the ones where the Coaches [Maurizio Sarri and Paulo Sousa respectively] have had the most impact in the least amount of time, they’ve disproved the cliché that it takes a long time to have an effect.

“Montella at Sampdoria? I don’t think he’ll need long, because Sampdoria aren’t bad technically.”

The veteran Coach also took a moment to discuss the atrocities in Paris, and agrees with UEFA’s decision to hold Euro 2016 in France as planned.

“The schedule of the European Championships shouldn’t change, not even by a comma.

“We must do what we have to do without being scared of anything, and not just in football.”
