“Toro had already tried to sign me in February, but I wanted to help Sampdoria to emerge from a difficult moment,” said the Poland international in his press conference.

“It’s a new challenge and I want to give my best. It’s very important that I already know the coach, as I know his system and that means I start at an advantage.

“I have joined a great club, I can play in a few different midfield roles, so it all depends where the coach wants to put me.”

There are reports that Torino are also trying to sign former Sampdoria players Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet from Olympique Lyonnais and Leicester City respectively.

“I did speak to Praet and Andersen, but they are the ones who have to make the decision, not me. I told them that Toro are waiting if they want to come.”
