The Partenopei have slipped down to fourth place following three consecutive defeats, including last week’s shock 2-0 at Verona.

Raul Albiol and Faouzi Ghoulam are suspended, while Ivan Strinic, Walter Gargano and Michu are out injured.

Paulo Henrique therefore steps in to central defence to plug the gaps with the returning Kalidou Koulibaly.

Atalanta have Carlos Carmona banned, while Cristian Raimondi and Marcelo Estigarribia are sidelined.

Reja helped Napoli to promotion after their bankruptcy, climbing up from Serie C to European qualification from 2005 to 2009.

His first two games in charge of Atalanta have both ended goalless and the Orobici are at real risk of being sucked into the bottom three.

German Denis leads the attack and has an excellent record at the Stadio San Paolo, supported by Maxi Moralez and Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez.

Davide Zappacosta returns to bolster the squad with another ex-Napoli player, Luca Cigarini.

Napoli: Andujar; Maggio, Henrique, Koulibaly, Britos; Inler, Diego Lopez; Callejon, Gabbiadini, De Guzman; Higuain

Atalanta: Sportiello; Stendardo, Bellini, Biava, Dramé; Migliaccio, Cigarini; Zappacosta, Maxi Moralez, Gomez; Denis
