Roberto Mancini saw perhaps his last chances of snatching third place and with it Champions League football evaporate with a 1-0 defeat to Genoa on Wednesday evening.

That same night, Udinese surprised Fiorentina and broke well clear of the relegation zone, so can play relatively free of pressure.

The same cannot be said of Inter, as representatives from the Suning Commerce Group are in the stands after talks to buy into the club.

Geoffrey Kondogbia returns from suspension to bolster the midfield, while Gary Medel sits out a ban.

Icardi is supported by Jovetic and Biabiany, who had been considered not 100 per cent fit, with a more ‘muscular’ midfield of Felipe Melo and Marcelo Brozovic.

There’s an interesting switch in defence too, Yuto Nagatomo going right-back with Juan Jesus on the left.

Udinese have Ali Adnan suspended, Antonio Di Natale, Giovanni Pasquale and Pablo Armero injured.

Duvan Zapata, on loan from Napoli, leads the attack with on-form hitman Cyril Thereau.

When these sides met in December, Inter ran out 4-0 winners at the Stadio Friuli with Icardi’s brace, Jovetic and Marcelo Brozovic on target.

However, Udinese have a remarkable recent record at San Siro. They have won three of their last four visits, including a 5-2 thrashing in May 2013, plus a 0-0 draw.

The Friulani are unbeaten here since a 2-1 result in September 2010.
