The statistics show that these two teams haven’t shared the spoils in over six years, managing eight Inter wins and six for Lazio since their last Coppa Italia stalemate in April 2008.

Inter got their first win under Mancini with last week’s 2-0 result at Chievo, even though goalkeeper Samir Handanovic had to perform some decisive saves.

The Nerazzurri are without Daniel Osvaldo and Jonathan, while ex-Lazio midfielder Hernanes is only fit enough for a spot on the bench.

Mauro Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio are supported by Croatia international Mateo Kovacic, but Nemanja Vidic and Gary Medel are benched.

That means Dodo is pushed into a more advanced winger role with Danilo D’Ambrosio and Yuto Nagatomo as full-backs.

Lazio can go two points clear in third place with a victory at San Siro this evening, as all the other contenders hit the brakes this week.

Stefano Pioli has an injury crisis on his hands, missing Antonio Candreva, Lucas Biglia, Ederson, Michael Ciani, Bruno Pereirinha, Edson Braafheid and Santiago Gentiletti.

Miroslav Klose gets the nod in favour of Filip Djordjevic to lead the trident attack with Felipe Anderson and Stefano Mauri.

That means Klose and Palacio face off for the first time since the World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina.

Marco Parolo returns from suspension in midfield.

The Aquile will be hoping to use their pace in order to run at that shaky Inter back four.
