Relegation-threatened Lecce have admitted an interest in Juventus’ 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Grosso.

The veteran is available for transfer after making just two Serie A appearances for the Old Lady so far this season.

The left-back was linked with the Stadio Via Del Mare outfit earlier this week and the Giallorossi have confirmed those reports.

“We do like the player,” Lecce sporting director Carlo Osti told Tutto Juve on Friday.

“Everything is at a standstill at the moment, but I believe that there will be some important developments next week.

“We’ll have to wait and see if a deal can be done.”

Grosso was signed from Lyon ahead of the 2009-10 campaign. He’s made 47 League appearances for the Bianconeri since his arrival, scoring two goals.
