The final day of the season sees the home side already safe, so these Lecce vs. Bologna predictions concentrate on the Rossoblu’s slim European qualification dreams.

Lecce vs. Bologna odds

1 – Bologna to win – 31/20

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 10/11

3 – Both teams not to score – 1/1

4 – Marko Arnautović to score at anytime – 11/5

5 – Bologna to score under 1.5 goals – 1/2

The job has been done as far as the home side is concerned this weekend. After an entire season of staring relegation in the face, Lecce’s later win against Spezia last week secured their Serie A status for another year.

There may have only been one previous win in the last three months, but a stoppage time penalty won the points for the Salentini and provided the gap needed ahead of this final round. It has not been the most impressive campaign, but Marco Baroni will feel that his task as head coach has been completed.

It would not be a surprise, therefore, if Lecce are not quite as competitive in front of their own fans on Sunday. Although this is a side that likes to attack, it may be a more muted effort at the weekend, as the players start enjoying their summer holidays safe in the knowledge that they will be returning for Serie A action next season.

Bologna may well have something still to play for though. With the prospect of eighth place being good enough for a Europa Conference League spot next season, the Rossoblu are one of a group of sides jumping at the chance of a last-ditch effort.

The draw against champions Napoli last week was impressive, especially considering Thiago Motta’s side were two down at the break. An improved second half effort saw Bologna fight back to take a point.

Coming away with a victory here will not be a foregone conclusion. But, with Marko Arnautović back from injury now, a narrow win could be on the cards – and it could be the Austrian international that scores the all-important goal.

Lecce team news

Marco Baroni couldn’t watch the late spot-kick last weekend but should find this game more enjoyable, whatever the final result. Goalscorer Lorenzo Colombo may not start here, but should see some game time, while Samuel Umtiti will be playing in his final match for the club before returning to Barcelona.

Bologna team news

Thiago Motta may be tempted to bring Riccardo Orsolini back into the starting line-up after missing last week through suspension. But he could also go with an unchanged side to start off with – and bring on the creative attacker later on if needed.
