Lecce could make former Milan and Italy right-back Ignazio Abate their first signing of the summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports Lecce have opened talks with Abate and that they are ongoing.

The 32-year-old will become a free agent once his Milan contract expires on June 30.

He played 306 times for the Rossoneri, winning a Scudetto in 2011.

The Apulian side, for their part, are preparing for a season back in Serie A after seven years away.
