With Emerson Palmieri set to join West Ham permanently, Sergio Reguilón has emerged as a transfer target for Lazio, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Emerson was Maurizio Sarri’s No.1 target for the left-back role, but the Italy international is on the verge of joining West Ham for €18m. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, a statement from the two London clubs is imminent.

However, Sarri is still looking to the Premier League for defensive reinforcements. Tottenham’s Reguilón is Lazio’s latest transfer target and according to the Rome-based paper, the Spanish full-back is open to joining the Biancocelesti.

His agent Kia Joorabchian has already spoken to Lazio, but negotiations between the two clubs haven’t begun yet. It remains to be seen if Igli Tare will manage to secure a deal for the Spanish defender, as Lazio can only get the player on loan with an option to buy and part of the salary paid by Spurs.

Nottingham Forest are also interested in Reguilón and, according to the report, they’ve already made an opening offer to Tottenham.

Il Corriere dello Sport also mentions Marcos Alonso as a target for Lazio. The 31-year-old is on the market, but yet again, the Biancocelesti can only offer a loan deal with an option to buy.
