Burak Yilmaz’s proposed move to Lazio is in further doubt today as his club reveal they have accepted a bid from Lokomotiv Moscow.

The Turkish international is in hot demand this summer after scoring 33 goals in 34 League appearances last term for Trabzonspor.

Whilst linked to Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Lazio have reportedly led the way in pursuit of the 26-year-old, who is believed to have a rescission clause around the €5m mark in his current contract.

However, talks have been delayed more than once, with the move fluctuating in status because of reported demands from the Turks for a sell-on fee in the deal.

Subsequently, the latest developments to the transfer saga are to Lazio's disadvantage, with Trabzonspor’s President Sadri Sener announcing today that the club have accepted a bid from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow.

“We have agreed a deal with Lokomotiv, we have already accepted their proposal and we sent them our signed contract,” Sener announced this afternoon.

“Now they only need to find an agreement with the player.

“Burak wants to leave us. We told him that there are necessary requirements and Lokomotiv has complied with these terms.”

However, that is where hope for the Biancocelesti remains, due to statements in reaction from Yilmaz’s agent.

“We respect Trabzonspor, but we have no agreement in place with Lokomotiv Moscow,” Ali Egesel told reporters in reply.

“We’ll meet to talk about it, but still we have not defined anything. He will only become a player of Lokomotiv when he signs a contract.”
