Lazio sporting director Igli Tare will face trial for alleged false testimony, ANSA reports.

The charge dates back to a trial involving Mauro Zarate, as the Biancocelesti refused to pay the striker three months of salary.

Tare testified to the court that Zarate had refused to train at the Aquile’s training ground, Formello, between March and June of 2013.

However, the Fiorentina forward is believed to have produced evidence that he did indeed make regular trips to the Lazio HQ for training.
