There is a lot going on at Hellas Verona today, because seemingly done deals have changed, with Matteo Cancellieri switching Sassuolo for Lazio and Nicolò Casale stalling Monza.
According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, the Biancocelesti had appeared to be out of the running for Cancellieri after being in negotiations for weeks.
Cancellieri was on the verge of a transfer to Sassuolo for €7m plus add-ons, but Lazio made a sudden surge and surpassed them in the race.
Cancellieri is only 20 years old, but the right-sided winger is a product of the Roma youth academy and has already made his senior Italy debut.
He made 14 appearances for Verona this season, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
As for Casale, he was preparing to undergo his medical with Monza and the documentation was all drawn up, but Sportitalia now report his agent has hit the brakes and is asking for more time.
He had his heart set on Lazio and that deal could still happen.
So could Ivan Ilic from Verona to the Biancocelesti, although that will only happen after Luis Alberto is sold.
Monza do have some good news, as Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has given the all-clear to a dry one-season loan and will have his medical on Friday or Saturday.
