Lazio are looking to bring in Bulgarian defender Ivan Ivanov on a free transfer, according to reports.

The 27-year-old centre-back was released by Basel in December, after a series of knee injuries saw him play just 11 games for the club in two-and-a-half seasons.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Biancocelesti are looking into the possibility of signing the Bulgarian international to bolster their defensive options.

Meanwhile, Ogenyi Onazi’s agent has confirmed his client will not leave today.

“Onazi will stay at Lazio. I can’t tell you with 100 per cent certainty, but yesterday [sporting director Igli] Tare was clear,” Stephen Makinwa told LaLazioSiamoNoi.

“The lad is focused. Obviously if he’s not playing there’s always the idea of going somewhere else.”

He had been linked with Newcastle United, Swansea City and Werder Bremen.
