According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Biancocelesti failed to report which ones of their players tested positive before their Serie A game against Torino last week.

Ciro Immobile, Thomas Strakosha and Lucas Leiva were included in the squad list to face the Granata even if they had tested positive for the previous Champions League clash against Club Brugge. Both Immobile and Leiva were subbed in in the second half with the Italian striker who scored the equalizer from the spot.

The trio also skipped last Wednesday’s Champions League against Zenit as, according to UEFA, they tested positive for Coronavirus.

“We performed the usual swabs last week, we hosted a visit from the Prosecutors’ Office twice and handed over all the tests. We did the tests again on Friday and Saturday, they came back negative, so they played on Sunday,” Igli Tare said before the Zenit clash on Wednesday.

“We are at the absolute disposal of the authorities, our conscience is clear and we can only wait for the final results.

“The tests we did half-an-hour after the UEFA one was negative. The same was true of Leiva and Strakosha. It’s very similar to what happened to Inter with Achraf Hakimi."

Although there is a difference between the Serie A and UEFA swab tests, Lazio seem to have failed to report to the local ASL which one of their players have contracted the virus.

The FIGC Prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into Lazio and possible violations of the health protocols and, if the club will be found guilty, they risk anything between fines to exclusion from the championship.
