Lazio have reportedly submitted a verbal proposal to attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada, who is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 26-year-old had spent six years on Eintracht’s books, during which time he scored 20 league goals from 127 Bundesliga appearances.

The Japanese international had been heavily linked with a move to join Milan this summer, although that deal collapsed, with the Rossoneri opting to sign the likes of Chrisitan Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze instead.

Lazio, however, are still in need of reinforcements following the departure of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al-Hilal for a €40m fee in July.

Lazio had been looking at Kamada earlier in the summer, but were reportedly put off by his high wage demands, thought to be roughly €5m per season plus a significant signing-on bonus.

Despite their earlier apprehension, Lazio appear to be back in for Kamada, who still has “three possible opportunities” according to Fabrizio Romano.
