It was reported today that prosecutor Roberto Di Martino has named 130 players, ex-players and Coaches who could stand trial following an investigation, with Mauri among those listed.

The Aquile skipper has already served a six-month ban after being convicted of failing to report match-fixing, and is allegedly accused of conspiring with others to fix games.

“From a legal point of view, the decision to lay these crimes on my clint is abnormal, wrong, illegal and a serious violation of his rights,” ANSA quotes Amilcare Buceti as saying.

“Did I expect it? Yes, because there’s a quite legitimate feeling that a prejudice exists against my client, but he’s got big shoulders.”
