Ezequiel Lavezzi is looking to score his first Champions League goal in Tuesday’s game against Chelsea.

The Argentine has featured in all six of the Azzurri’s European ties so far this season, but he’s missing a goal.

“I hope to score, I really want to,” the 26-year-old stated on Monday afternoon ahead of the first leg of the last 16 tie. “I’ll just look to give my best.

“It’s true that I am lacking a few goals, but it is you journalists who are discussing it more than myself,” he added after five goals in 19 League games.

“I do the maximum for my team and it changes nothing whether I score or don’t. It only affects you as a goal can be worth one or two more marks in the match rankings at the end of a game.”

Napoli are being considered as favourites by some going into Tuesday’s clash, but the South American is remaining cool.

“I don’t think we are favourites,” he responded. “Chelsea have great experience in the competition and we don’t.

“However, we are hungry to win and you can see that sometimes in our play. We know how important things are and we don’t want to make a mistake.”
