Milan striker Gianluca Lapadula says his first Derby della Madonnina was a “beautiful emotion”, despite the result.

The former Pescara man played the final 10 minutes of Sunday’s draw with Inter, and discussed the experience with SportMediaset at the Italy training camp.

“My first derby was a beautiful emotion,” Lapadula confirmed.

“There’s a bit of regret about the result, but Milan are becoming a beautiful Italian reality. It’s too bad we conceded a last minute goal but we were doing well.

“Silvio Berlusconi? The President has represented Milan for many years and still does, he’s been a symbol for many years.

“The choreography was very beautiful and to see it from the pitch raised goosebumps. Berlusconi congratulated us after the game and told us that with our attitude the results will come.”

Lapadula is one of the players called-up by Giampiero Ventura for a special Azzurri training camp, and also discussed the work at Coverciano.

“It’s always a very pleasing call to get. You can already see that we’re a very good group, we already know each other so we’ll be in a better position to work over the coming days.”
