Gianluca Lapadula will sign for Serie A new boys Benevento next week, claim multiple sources, in a deal worth €4m from Genoa.

The 30-year-old centre-forward returned to Genoa after his loan spell at Lecce last season.

His 13 goals in 27 competitive games were not enough to avoid the Salentini’s relegation to Serie B.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, a deal has been struck for €4m so he can join Pippo Inzaghi’s newly-promoted Benevento.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, a deal has been struck for €4m so he can join Pippo Inzaghi’s newly-promoted Benevento.

There is a three-year contract waiting for Lapadula, whose previous clubs include Parma, Pescara and Milan.

Sportitalia report that Spezia and some overseas clubs had also made approaches for the striker, but he had already made a pledge with Le Streghe.
