Mamuka Jugeli, the agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, will continue contract negotiations with Napoli as Barcelona continue to try and tempt the Georgian ace.

The 23-year-old winger is still on the initial five-year contract signed when he arrived from Dinamo Batumi back in July 2022, leaving him as one of the lowest paid players in the squad with a salary of just €1m net per season plus add-ons.

Despite Napoli’s difficulties this season, Kvaratskhelia hasn’t lost faith and has managed to impress on the Campania coast, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, attracting the continued attention of Barcelona.

Kvaratskhelia uncertainty

Page 16 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Jugeli will meet with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis in the coming days to continue contract negotiations. The Georgian winger wants a salary of €5m net per season and is keen to understand the future plans after the difficulties of this term.

Barcelona are keen to tempt the 23-year-old to make the jump to Catalonia and have discussed a possible contract, which’ll be presented to the Partenopei should the talks between agent and club not lead to progress.

  1. Like Barca can even afford him. ADL won’t sell him for less than 100 million euros. Paying him 5 million a season should be a no brainer for Napoli imo.

  2. I hope he stays. Its bad enough at the moment without contemplating what things would be like if the likes of him or others should leave. Not a great prospect for the coming season.

  3. Why would Napoli increase his wage? He signed a contract and it’s valid for many years to come. Nobody held a gun to his head, right?
