It is reported today that Christoph Kramer’s proposed move to Napoli is indeed on standby due to Bayer Leverkusen and the player.

The two clubs were seen as in negotiations from before the World Cup for the €15m-rated midfielder, with talk of a €12m deal even suggested.

However, on from Rudi Voller’s assertion that Kramer remains ‘part of Leverkusen’s project’, Napoli have been reported as seeking alternative targets in the transfer market.

Today, Tuttomercatoweb reiterate that the deal for Kramer is not completely ended, but that it remains on standby.

Key to the transfer’s future is apparently the 23-year-old’s intentions and that whilst he previously confirmed talks with Napoli were real, he is seen of late as ready to stay in Germany for next year.

Next week is seen as likely to bring with it a decision one way or another.
