Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly sent a message after racist abuse from Inter fans. “I am proud to be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan: A Man.”

He was subjected to racist abuse throughout the 1-0 defeat to Inter and this inevitably contributed to his lack of control in the final minutes.

Koulibaly was booked, turned to the referee and sarcastically applauded for a red card.

Inter went on to win 1-0 thanks to a Lautaro Martinez goal.

“I'm disappointed by the defeat, but above all at leaving my brothers!” Koulibaly wrote on Twitter.

“But I am proud of the colour of my skin. Proud to be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan: A Man."

There were three warnings read out by the stadium speaker that play would be halted if the racist abuse continued, but it never was.

Napoli Coach Carlo Ancelotti said "next time we'll take matters into our own hands" and will walk off if there is repeated racist abuse.
