Kalidou Koulibaly “could stay at Napoli for life”, his agent claims, but he’s unsure about a Chelsea offer.

Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis yesterday reiterated that he rejected an offer from the English side near the end of the transfer window, with the centre-back later signing a new contract.

“If the President says that, we can believe it or not,” Bruno Satin shrugged, speaking to Radio Crc.

“It could also be De Laurentiis looking to publicly fix Kalidou’s price. At this level, talks between the clubs – or in personal relationships such as between the patron and [Antonio] Conte – can lead to direct contact.

“Is there a release clause in his new contract? I won’t go into that, it’s confidential. Koulibaly could stay for life, you never know in football.

“He’s always been at ease in this city, the people love him and he has a great relationship with his teammates. There are no problems, he has this season to play.

“Don’t forget there’s the Champions League, so he’s looking forward. He has some very important motivations. He knows he has the confidence of the Coach [Maurizio Sarri], that’s super-clear.”
