Christian Kouame has posted a farewell message to Genoa fans after completing his transfer to Fiorentina.
The Ivory Coast international officially joined the Viola this afternoon, despite not being able to play until May due to ACL surgery.
The striker took to Instagram to thank the club.
“I close an important chapter in my life. I grew up with the Genoa shirt. I made my debut in Serie A, I have realised a dream,” Kouame wrote on Instagram.

“I close an important chapter in my life. I grew up with the Genoa shirt. I made my debut in Serie A, I have realised a dream,” Kouame wrote on Instagram.
“My first goal, under the curva nord, with the jersey of Genoa on, literally, I became a father for the first time.
“With these colours on I have known my first serious injury, but thanks to all the affection from everyone I am confronted with the smile and the security that I will return to the pitch as strong as before.
“Genoa was not a stop-gap. Genoa the city and Genoa the club will remain in my heart forever. Because from the start they have listened to me like a son.
“I appreciate everyone with a minimum amount of words because it is difficult. I can only say one name: Marco Pellegri that for me was really like a father.
“I am ready for this new adventure, with an ambitious club that has believed in me despite being injured at this moment.
“I can’t wait to get back on to the pitch and repay the debt I owe them. I still haven’t arrived in Florence but I have already seen the crazy passion of the fans.
“I can’t wait to start this new adventure. You have to have a little patience. I am recuperating well!
“And then, we will smile together, because the smile is never lost!”
