Lazio will have to battle for the last remaining Champions League spot without Miroslav Klose, writes the Gazzetta dello Sport.
According to the paper, the German striker won’t risk playing again this season in order to not jeopardise his fitness ahead of Euro 2012.
There were hopes that the former Bayern Munich man would be back for at least the last two games of the campaign.
Klose picked up an injury on March 22 which turned out to be a problematic left thigh strain that will now probably keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
The 33-year-old, signed on a 24-month Bosman deal last summer, has scored 12 goals in 26 League games for the Biancocelesti.
Lazio are currently third, three points ahead of Udinese, four of Roma and six clear of Napoli and Inter.
