"I want to break the record with the national team now," the former Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich ace told Bild.
"My future with the national side? We'll finish the Euro 2012 qualifiers and then I will speak to the Coach about it.
"I am a spontaneous guy and I will make my decision about when I retire from my gut feeling," he continued.
"But for as long as I am enjoying myself and am free of injury, then I want to keep playing.
"It is all down to me anyway – when I am fit, I will play. And I am feeling really good."
Klose has scored five goals in seven games for Lazio since his summer Bosman switch from Bayern.
