La Repubblica are reporting that Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has been offered a new contract at the club and is considering signing it.

The German international’s current deal with the Biancoceleste expires at the end of this season but, according to the Italian newspaper, President Claudio Lotitio has now offered him a two year extension.

The new deal would see the 35-year-old earn €1.5m a season before bonuses, which could take his income up by around another €1m.

The player and his family are said to be happy in Rome, but a potential stumbling block could be the player’s own ambition.

According to the report, Klose would only be willing to remain at Stadio Olimpico if he were to be given assurances that the club were moving in the right direction.

That would mean the Biancoceleste showing that they mean business by making no fewer than four or five high quality signings in the summer.

Klose is said to have been unhappy at his club’s transfer activities in January, when they sold Hernanes to Inter in the final hours of the window.
