Kim Min-jae’s agent confirms they have ‘reached an agreement with Napoli’ and will complete the transfer from Fenerbahce this week, as further details emerge about the deal.

The centre-back was first choice to replace Kalidou Koulibaly following the €40m sale to Chelsea, although the Partenopei faced stiff competition from Rennes and Tottenham Hotspur.

“We have reached an agreement with Napoli,” Kim’s agent told Fener Actual.

“If nothing goes wrong, this week we will go to Naples and sign a contract.”

It is reported to be a contract to June 2025 that is worth €2.5m per season, after Napoli paid the €20m release clause in his deal with Fenerbahce.

However, the Partenopei have also put in a release clause that is valid from June 2024 that is believed to be worth €45m.

South Korea international defender Kim has already left the Fenerbahce training camp in Istanbul and is working with a personal trainer in Portugal.

He is the second defender to join Napoli this summer, after Leo Ostigard was picked up from Brighton and Hove Albion for €5m plus performance-related bonuses.
