Jyuventus midfielder Sami Khedira says he is “at the top of my game physically and mentally” after putting a ‘difficult’ start to the season behind him.

Khedira was ruled out for the entirety of September with a knee injury, but the German has since returned to help Juve move to within a point of Serie A leaders Napoli.

“We practically have the same number of points as we did last season, so we can be satisfied,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Khedira was ruled out for the entirety of September with a knee injury, but the German has since returned to help Juve move to within a point of Serie A leaders Napoli.

“We practically have the same number of points as we did last season, so we can be satisfied,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“However, in order to win [the Scudetto], we’ll have to do the same in the second half of the season.

“We didn’t start very well as we dropped some points, but now we’re in form.

“We’re only one point behind Napoli and that’s the only thing we have to change, but we’re working on it.

“For me, the situation is the same: I had some difficulties at the start of the season and a minor injury, but now I’m at the top of my game physically and mentally, and my objective is to keep going like this.

“Napoli are one of the best teams in Italy and Europe, so much so that they’re now one of the favourites to win the Europa League, and it’s not easy to play against them.

“But we’re also strong, we got the three points at their place and that made us happy.

“We know that to win the Scudetto, we have to beat the lesser teams too. Therefore, we’ll continue on our way, without looking at how they’re doing.”
