Keita is set to complete a transfer to Inter on Monday, only a year after he left Lazio for Monaco, and Roberto Calenda believes Luciano Spalletti is ‘the perfect person at the perfect moment’ in the Senegalese’s career.
“Monaco should be thanked: they gave Keita back his smile, serenity and carefreeness after years of tension and promises made and never kept by Lazio’s board,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I’m not surprised they let him leave: the deal could benefit everyone involved. The player still wants to explode in the country where he’s grown as a footballer, and at 23 it’s the perfect time for him.
“Spalletti? He’s the perfect person at the perfect moment. He can help Keita make the definitive step-up in his career.”
