Roma have confirmed that Rick Karsdorp’s surgery on his damaged knee ligament was ‘successful’.

Karsdorp became the latest in a long line of Roma ACL victims during Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Crotone, but he is already back on the mend after going under the knife.

“On Friday, full-back Rick Karsdorp underwent arthroscopic to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” read a statement on the Giallorossi’s official website.

“On Friday, full-back Rick Karsdorp underwent arthroscopic to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” read a statement on the Giallorossi’s official website.

“The surgery went as planned. Karsdorp will begin his rehabilitation plan shortly.”

The right-back joined Roma from Dutch champions Feyenoord over the summer in a €14m deal and was making his competitive debut against Crotone after an injury-hit start to life at the Olimpico.
