Napoli could exchange second choice goalkeeper Luigi Sepe with Udinese’s Orestis Karnezis as understudy to Pepe Reina.

There are increasing reports that Reina could remain at the Stadio San Paolo, as last night he watched the 7-0 friendly win over Trento in a hotel room with President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

They are still seeking a reliable shot-stopper to complete the squad and Karnezis appears to fit the bill.

According to Il Messaggero Veneto newspaper, Udinese would accept Sepe in a straight swap with the 32-year-old Greece international.

Another option would be Alex Meret, who is owned by Udinese and spent last season on loan at SPAL in Serie B.

Meret could be sold to Napoli for €25m and then loaned to SPAL, who won promotion to the top flight.

Udinese are also interested in Partenopei striker Leonardo Pavoletti.
