Milan have another shot at glory in Europe’s second-tier competition after their appeal to be reinstated was successful, and Kaka made it clear the Rossoneri did not have to sacrifice it for their pursuit of the Champions League.
“Milan are a team who are seriously trying to regain their place at the top,” he continued to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Milan are a team who are seriously trying to regain their place at the top,” he continued to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It won’t be necessary to neglect the Europa League: when the teams eliminated from the Champions League arrive, it’ll be a very fascinating competition and and winning it could be crucial.
“I understand the fans, I’m one of them, but being successful again is the first objective and winning [the Europa League] would lead to the European Super Cup.
“You think of Atletico beating Real Madrid, so never say never. Ideally, we want to return to the Champions League immediately. It’s the most rational target.
“Juve have a lot of quality, a habit of winning and the right organisation. They’re the best Serie A team on paper, that can’t be disputed, but many things can happen and thinking big is in the club’s DNA.
“Football is an unpredictable game. Juventus are ahead of everyone else, but I think the thrust of the Milan fans, who have regained their pride, can be a decisive factor in climbing the ladder.
“The objective is to rebuild, but it would be great if we immediately started winning again.”
