Juventus are looking to find a new home for unneeded midfielder Arthur Melo, whose salary weighs heavily on their balance sheets.

The 26-year-old Brazilian joined Liverpool on a surprise loan deal last summer, but the move was a disaster for him. He made just one appearance for the Reds before suffering a serious injury that kept him out of the squad until March.

Predictably, Liverpool chose not to activate the buy option attached to Arthur’s loan deal, sending him back to Juventus. With no space for him in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, the Old Lady are now back on the market once again.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Juventus have no interest in keeping Arthur, who earns around €6.5m net per season, and so have tasked his entourage with finding him a new club. Interest has already emerged from Spain, France, and Turkey.

Arthur’s agents are now at work to try and find an agreeable deal for the 26-year-old. Updates are expected in the coming weeks, with his departure being a priority.
