Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has still not returned to squad training and will not take part in their first game of 2023 against Cremonese.

The 22-year-old Serbian forward closed out his 2022 in Serie A on the sidelines, missing the Bianconeri’s last four league outings due to an adductor issue. He did travel with Serbia to Qatar for the World Cup, where he made one start, but he was clearly off the mark in the tournament, looking uncomfortable on the pitch.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Vlahovic did not take part in any of Juventus’ three mid-season friendlies and still hasn’t returned to squad training in Continassa yet. The 22-year-old is currently carrying out individual work with the trainers and medical staff, being careful with his recovery.

The former Fiorentina man is hoping to be fit for the games against Udinese on January 7 and Napoli on January 13, with the latter predictably being a more pressing matter for the player.
