Federico Chiesa underwent a round of medicals tests with Juventus after withdrawing from the Italy camp through injury and the club are feeling positive, reports detail.

The 25-year-old winger was forced to leave Luciano Spalletti’s Azzurri squad just days before their Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia after suffering a muscle problem in training.

Chiesa only returned to action in the second half of last season following last year’s cruciate ligament rupture and there are still some doubts about his ability to return to his previous levels.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus’ medical staff examined Chiesa following his return from Coverciano and are feeling confident that he’ll be back in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad in no time.

The 25-year-old avoided any major injuries and will only need to undergo some physical therapy, so the hope is that he’ll be part of the team for the clash with Lazio on September 16.

Chiesa will be closely monitored in the coming week and could undergo a new round of tests on Monday to determine his recovery progress.
