Italian champions Juventus have made Luca Marrone unavailable for transfer, report Sky Sport Italia.

The Italian Under-21 international was set to be released this summer, on loan or in a co-ownership agreement.

However, it is now being claimed that boss Antonio Conte has asked the club to keep him following the sale of Emanuele Giaccherini to Sunderland.

The 23-year-old has only appeared in 13 League games for the Old Lady over the past two campaigns.

Marrone was used as a centre-back last term by Conte, but he may be transformed back into his natural central midfield role after the signing of stopper Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus.

The former Siena player has been linked with the likes of Atalanta, Inter, Parma and Fiorentina this summer.
