Gianluca Vialli believes that Inter yesterday were inferior to Juventus ‘physically, technically and intellectually’.

The Old Lady picked up a relatively comfortable 3-1 win over the Nerazzurri in Week 22’s Derby d’Italia, to leave Sky Sport Italia pundit Vialli in no doubt about where the gaps between the two sides lie.

“I did not expect Inter to win this match, but that they would play better, yes,” mused the retired striker post-match.

“I think they have been inferior from a physical point of view, because Juventus always arrived first to the ball, they had a rate much higher than that of Inter.

“[Also] from a technical point of view, and also from the intellectual point of view – Inter had no ideas for up to 75 minutes.

“I do not want to exaggerate, though, because they are a team still under construction, but Pirlo was left too free to set up play and obviously the tactics did not work.

“There was too little pressure on Juve’s defence when they looked to come out with the ball and there was almost nothing in attack, there was not enough.”
