Sky Sport Italia ruled out any serious damage to Ronaldo’s left ankle after the blow he took against Bologna last weekend, but Gazzetta dello Sport claims it is ‘unlikely’ he will feature at the San Paolo.

The newspaper goes on to explain the Portuguese could appear on the substitutes’ bench to keep him ‘warm’, in the event he is needed, but notes the ‘priority’ is to return to Turin without any more injuries.

The 34-year-old has scored 21 goals in 34 appearances this season for the Old Lady, who lead Napoli at the top of Serie A by 13 points.
