Juventus are travelling to Madrid today amid reports they’re close to completing a €24m swoop for Gonzalo Higuain.

The 25-year-old striker has made it clear he will leave Real Madrid this summer and is currently away on international duty with Argentina.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Marca, President Andrea Agnelli and director general Beppe Marotta will be in Spain today for face-to-face talks with Real Madrid.

They hope to get the deal done quickly for €24m to shut out the competition from Arsenal and Napoli.

If Juventus have the club on side, then they can begin discussing personal terms with Higuain next week.

At the same time, the Bianconeri are also keeping Carlos Tevez on ice, as it’s rumoured the Manchester City forward is prepared to lower his wages to help the move go through.

Having already signed Fernando Llorente on a Bosman from Athletic Bilbao, it’s highly unlikely Juve would sign three new forwards in one summer.

Higuain is seen as the primary target, with talks on-going for Tevez as an insurance policy.
