Pescara have revealed that there is still a big difference between what they want for Marco Verratti and Juventus’ offer.

The Old Lady are targeting the 19-year-old midfielder, but they have been told that they will have to dig deep for the playmaker.

“When Juventus first contacted us two months ago it was their intention to take him to Turin so that he could become their new Andrea Pirlo,” Pescara sporting director Daniele Delli Carri told Radio CRC.

“However, Juventus haven’t signed him. There is still some difference between the €8m that they are offering and the €12m that we are requesting.

“There is a chance that Verratti will stay here with us…”

Verratti is just one of a number of young players who have caught the eye under the tutelage of Zdenek Zeman for the promoted outfit.

Lorenzo Insigne, owned by Napoli, is another who is attracting the interest of numerous clubs on the transfer market.

“Youngsters need to play and not sit on the bench,” Delli Carri continued. “I think that it would be right for Insigne to stay at Pescara rather than return to Napoli.

“He’s done some great things with Zeman and another year with us would do him good.”

Insigne, an Under-21 international, has been linked with a Stadio San Paolo recall should the Azzurri sell Ezequiel Lavezzi this summer.
