The Bianconeri sit fourth in Serie A, three points clear of Napoli, but the Azzuri have a game in hand.

Andrea Pirlo insisted the Portuguese star put in a good performance against La Viola today.

“I don’t think Ronaldo did badly. He had a few chances and overall was not bad. It was the team that should’ve attacked the space more, and we did see some of that in the second half, as Fiorentina had a high line,” the coach said.

Ronaldo remains Juventus’ best scorer this season with 32 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, but the majority of fans seem to be annoyed with his performances of late.

Ronaldo is Juventus’ highest earner with a €31m-a-year salary.

He has been linked with a return to Manchester United, but would need to take a pay cut to return to Old Trafford.
