Ivan Juric told his Hellas Verona strikers to “wake up” after a 2-0 defeat to Napoli, as none of them have scored this season.

“I am happy with the performance, but disappointed to emerge empty-handed,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Curiously, all Verona’s goals this term have come from defenders or midfielders, and they had the chances at the Stadio San Paolo this evening.

“I am happy with the performance, but disappointed to emerge empty-handed,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We conceded two fairly avoidable goals in situations where we could’ve done better. The fact that we created so many chances here only increases the regret that we weren’t able to take one of them.

“We’ve got to improve upfront. I change so much in attack because I am not seeing what I want from them. We work on our finishing in training so much, but have to do better in match situations.

“The team puts in good performances, but if after eight rounds we haven’t got a single goal from the strikers, then I do start to worry. Now they have to show what they are capable of.

“There is also a bit of bad luck, because Alex Meret made some great saves, but the fact remains they have no excuse and need to wake up.”
