“We cannot fail, we have had the one stumble in the Champions League and two almost eliminates you, or hinders making it through,” Juanfran has reflected this week.
“What is important with this team is that when things are more difficult, they compete better. We know that we have to win.
“This is one of the best teams in Europe so the team will be amazing and I am convinced that we will win.
“Juventus are a great team, very complicated, whilst the Champions League is special. We go into this with the mentality always to win, and I am sure that if we can play a great game as we did the other day [in La Liga] then we will win.”
The Spain international still paid respect to Juve, running through their line-up.
“They have many players who could be among the best in Europe. They have a great goalkeeper, who is very experienced. The line of three centre-backs and the attacking full-backs.
“The midfield is very strong and has quality. In attack, there is the great form of Tevez, who scored twice [in the previous match with Malmo], whilst the Spanish they have are very good too.
“The truth is that they are a great team. Atletico Madrid fans who are lucky enough to come to the stadium will see a big game because this will be between two great teams.”
