The attacking midfielder was hoping to play in the Week 37 schedule, but he now concedes that won't happen.

"I'm feeling good and I'm desperate to get back into action," he said on Thursday.

"I won't be available against Bologna though as I have a small muscle problem, but I hope to be back against Brescia."

It has been a long road back after surgery, but Jovetic insists that he never feared the worst after his knee ligament snapped.

"I never thought that my career could be over," he continued. "Lots of athletes were injured before me.

"I have always thought positively and this horrible experience will make me more mature."

Fiorentina could be set for some mass changes in the summer, but the youngster has committed his future to the club.

"My contract expires in 2013 and I'm available to extend my current deal."

Jovetic was finally asked about the possibility of becoming club captain should Riccardo Montolivo leave this summer.

"The armband would be something very nice but, who knows, Montolivo may stay," he concluded.
