The Montenegro sensation's future is in some doubt given that he's only tied to the Tuscan outfit until June 2013.

Despite attracting the transfer attention of clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea, it is understood that the player is ready to stay in Florence.

Representative Fali Ramadami held talks with Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino yesterday regarding the matter.

Although no terms were finalised, it is being suggested that the two parties did move closer to finding common ground.

Fiorentina are willing to offer him a new deal until 2016, even if there is presently still a difference between the player's salary demands and the current club offer.

"He's an extraordinary player," Viola patron Andrea Della Valle told the Corriere dello Sport on Monday.

"We certainly don't want to deprive ourselves of his ability, but there is no need to put pressure on him regarding his contract.

"There is plenty of time to discuss this matter and we'll soon be able to give you some good news about the situation."
