Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Jorginho is going to Chelsea and that a deal for Maurizio Sarri is ‘in the home stretch’.

De Laurentiis’ remarks come a day after it was reported Chelsea had agreed to bring in Jorginho and Sarri from Napoli for a combined €65m, despite the midfielder appearing to be on his way to Manchester City at one point.

“The Sarri affair is in the home stretch, it depends on him,” he told reporters.

“I’ve laid down my conditions. It’s all in the hands of lawyers. Jorginho? We said to ourselves, ‘if Jorginho has any requests, we’ll take them into account.’

“For that, I’ll have to apologise to Manchester City. However, if the player would rather live in London than Manchester, I can understand that.

“If Chelsea are paying him even more, I can understand that too. Jorginho and Sarri together again? Jorginho would go to Chelsea regardless of Sarri.”

Jorginho was spotted at Naples Capodichino airport on Wednesday, fuelling rumours that he was boarding a flight to London ahead of a medical with the Blues.
